how to regain the use of my files desinfected by drweb
hi ray this is my first post, my pc (p4 xpsp2) was infected by usr_shodi_photo.exe, i desinfected with cureit, but the files desinfected don't work anymore, when i double-clic i get a window telling me to choose a music file to convert. is it possible to regain the use of those files and thank you.

No. They will need to be replaced. Tying to remove an infection from files is a sloppy and inexact science. Sometimes the surgery succeeds, but the patient dies. Too much needed to be cut out.

Yes file disinfection doesn't always work. Dr. Web Cure It is one that does this job well along with Kaspersky. If Cure It fails to do the job and made that file useless its time to replace that file.

Agreed. Malwares which belongs to Polymorphic families has been known for this damaging reputation. All exe files and other targeted file formats will all be replaced by a malware itself ( via replication and file infection ).Thus, rendering your precious file useless.
Always remember that disinfection routine will always be a messy and a creepy job. So, avoid being infected in the first place - that's prevention and heuristic.
